Another day, another scramble to get things done!
In Literature 9 we discussed one of my favorite chapters - the death of Tim Johnson. I feel that Harper Lee does this amazing job of putting us right there on the Finch porch watching Atticus shoot the dog. We took our check, reviewed the words (first hour), and then began to discuss Idioms. We'll have our quiz over the next five chapters tomorrow and also play some kind of vocabulary game as a review.
In English 10 we started out reviewing subject/verb agreement (worksheet). Then we grouped together and discussed Friar Lawrence's soliloquy. We marked it with various highlighters looking for alliteration, terms related to herbology, and also juxtapositions. For tomorrow complete the reverse side of the worksheet and also complete exercise #5 found on page 113.
In American Literature we took our unit test covering Of Mice and Men. Everyone should read "The Raven" for tomorrow and complete the guided reading.
In Law we began our discussion of defenses used once you were arrested. We discussed circumstantial vs. hard facts, probable cause, and our Miranda rights. We also reviewed the importance of the Miranda and Gideon cases and how they changed the law.
Again the wind just howls. I'm looking forward to our first calm, warm day!
