What? The end of September already? Where did the month go? I went home early today as the cold was kicking my butt, but as I sit here watching "The Voice," I can honestly say, I feel better. I hope that maybe with an extra few hours of sleep and a lot of liquids, I will be victorious over this cold.
In Literature 9 we spent the class period studying for tomorrow's vocabulary test. There are quizlet cards to study and SMART board games to play. I hope all of you take advantage of those activities. Also don't forget to study those homophones (commonly confused words). I know you can do it!
In English 10 we learned how to write an introduction (title, author, and theme [main idea]). We then prepared our scripts with construction paper. Then classtime finished out with rehearsal time. The only way you can truly mark your script is by PRACTICING OUTLOUD! Speech is an oral activity that must be done OUTLOUD!! You can not practice in your head. Rehearse just as long as you would study for a test. If you normally study 20 minutes for a test, rehearse your speech twenty minutes. You can't just wing it.
In American Government we took our Chapter 1 test. We reviewed the material before taking the test, and I hope it was helpful. It was the main reason I crawled out of bed and went to school. I wanted to be there for those students who feel more comfortable if I'm there while they are taking a test.
Well, another Monday is out of the way, so let's tackle October!
