Today flew by! I can't believe that it's almost the end of the day already.
In Literature 9 we continued to work with irony. We reviewed our homework, and then listened to a song "Ironic" and labeled the irony. Then we reviewed the vocabulary found in "The Sniper". We'll finish up the story tomorrow and move onto "The Leap."
In English 10 it took a little longer on the speeches than anticipated. We took time to debrief about what worked and what didn't. Then we reviewed the "Blocks to Listening". Everyone received an article that talks about how to be a better listener. Read it and take notes.
In American Government we had some great conversations about current events. Then we took our research comparing countries (developed, developing, and under-developed) and cut them into columns. Each person was assigned a group and are asked to prepare a presentation to be given in front of the United Nations General Assembly on their #1 problem and the possible solution for it. They are also to provide a rationale as to how a $100 million grant could be used.
The school year is flying by, but I feel like we're getting things done, concepts learned and having fun at the same time.
