What a beautiful day! The sun is shining and the temperature is perfect. I don't golf, but on days like today, I can see why people might. By the way, good luck to the golfers today...and the track kids.
In Literature 9 we took our final check over the novel - Chapter 28. We then discussed the events that needed to align for Bob Ewell to pull off his attack. I explained the idiom "a perfect storm" (some might call it ducks in a row or the stars aligned). Whether it was because there was no moon, the kids stayed at the auditorium too long, Scout couldn't run because of her costume, etc., there are a lot of things that had to fall into place for the attack to be successful. Unfortunately for Bob he didn't count on the "unknown" man. Then as a class we read Chapter 29. The unknown man is named, and some are surprised, but most figured it out. I guess the first time I read it I was clueless. Anyway...we'll finish reading the novel tomorrow. For homework, Kohlberg's Moral Development was started.
In English 10 we completed our final section of the study guide. I emphasized the importance of understanding dangling and misplaced modifiers. Hopefully people will look those over. We then read more of Act IV (Scene 3-4). With any sort of luck, we'll finish Act IV tomorrow.
American Literature was a quiet class today. We took our unit test over Romanticism. Several will still need to finish their skills portion tomorrow, and then we'll begin our realism unit by reading Of Mice and Men. Unfortunately some people have a big mouth and have given away the ending. That makes me so mad! Whether it was done to you or not you don't need to continue with divulging the plot twist. It almost makes the book anti-climatic now.
In Law we reviewed Section Review and I allowed for changing a few answers after a discussion. We then reviewed the main concepts and took our 6-1 Quiz. I kind of sprung it on them, but with the review it went o.k. We have a packet on Intentional Torts that we're going to start tomorrow.
Have a wonderful Thursday everyone.
