The snow mixed with melting mixed with rain...it's an ugly combination. I hope everyone can get to the game safely, and once there, we play our best. Good luck gentlemen!
In Literature 9 we finished discussing the vocabulary words related to "Into Thin Air". We then reviewed our homework - the timetable of the events of that day. Finally, we watched a digital recording of Ken Kemlar and his perspective of the events that May day. It's always so eery to hear what happened after Jon Krakauer's story. For tomorrow read for 10 minutes and prepare for a quiz.
In English 10 we first reviewed the difficult part of motivational speeches. Then we discussed the aspect of a solution. A solution is one step but with three reasons. For example, if my problem is the high cost of college and my solution is to attend a community college, I might use as my thesis: Attend a local community college because it is cheaper, academically rigorous, and may help you into a profession you didn't consider. [Yes, I realize that this isn't parallel, but I'll work on it!] We then discussed that the visualization is more of a transition to the Call to Action. It's simply a few sentences reminding us that this will be what it looks like if we don't (or do) adopt the solution. Since we don't have class tomorrow because of the FFA games, the outline needs to be completed for Monday where we will work on delivery and No Red Ink.
In American Literature, we basically worked on our test all hour. For tomorrow, everyone should be sure that they read for their assigned 10 minutes. We will be moving onto "Civil Disobedience" and "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" as part of our Sense of Duty.
In Law, we started our journey through the criminal system. We discussed assault, battery, murder one, voluntary homicide (murder 2) and involuntary homicide. We didn't quite get to our vocabulary, so tomorrow we will start with that.
Again, everyone please be safe as they drive to the game. We want it to be a celebration when they win!
