This has been a very hectic day, and I'm not exactly sure why. It seems like I've been working on a lot of different things - prom, large group speech, individual speech practices, etc. Hey, you'd think I was used to it by now!
In Literature 9 we started class by reviewing our Author's Purpose Workshop. We went through Reading Passage #3. Then we took a look at our challenge words in our "Expand Our Vocabulary". Then we moved on to Black Boy and its anecdotes. We finished up by discussing our six word memoir (due for Thursday) What six words represents you and why.
In English 10 we discussed the importance of audience analysis. We then reviewed our homework on subject complements, and also took a check. With what time was remaining we selected our words related to Mythology. Tomorrow we'll begin to take notes related to audience analysis and how to speak to motivate.
In American Literature we worked for several minutes on author's style. We analyzed a little Ernest Hemingway and then an excerpt from "Legend of Sleepy Hollow". Everyone took the check over "Adventures of a German Student", and we started discussing it, but didn't get too far. We'll finish that on Thursday. Everyone should read "Devil and Tom Walker" (pg. 124-).
In Law we spent most of the class working with our vocabulary Legal Language I. We reviewed using SMART board notes, then worked in pairs. Finally we took our quiz. Law in the news is due for tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone!
