Well, I'm slowly getting back into the rhythm of things. Between ITED's, district meetings, and the play, everything bounced out of step. With a little organization (and probably a few late nights), I hope to bounce back into the rhythm of a daily schedule.
In Literature 9 we've been reading the radio drama "The Hitchhiker" by Lucille Fletcher. It's a fun 1940's radio drama that really gets one thinking about what is reality and what isn't. We're beginning to drill the ideas of figurative language - focusing this week on similes and metaphors. With "The Hitchhiker" we're studying idioms. They can be quite funny.
In English 10 we discussed how to write notecards. We then discussed the start of our demonstration speeches. We began them today with some great speeches on how to hand clean (lifting), how to make brownies or chocolate chip cookies, how to show cattle, and how to tile a filed. I think I will learn a lot this week!
In American Literature we finally finished our discussion of the Declaration of Independence. It's been over a week since we've seen each other, so it was wonderful to reconnect. They will be taking their tests over the Age of Reason on Thursday.
Well, getting completely caught up might be a tall order, but I'm bound and determined to do the best I can. See you tomorrow!
