I'm not sure if I forgot to blog yesterday or it was simply lost. Knowing me, I just spaced it off.
In Literature 9 we reviewed the three types of irony (verbal, situational, and dramatic). For Wednesday, there were some exercises that are designed to help people differentiate between the three. Then we got into groups and used our context clues (which is just another fancy word for predictions) and determined the definitions of words. We discovered that our predictions were right more often than they were wrong.
In English 10 we're still trying to get through our Past, Present, and Future speeches. We have a few left to get to. Everyone is also to work on finding subjects/predicates. We will be winding everything up tomorrow.
In American Literature we started our portion of the unit on mass hysteria and witch trials. We discussed a few terms and related the witch trials of Salem to the 1950's. Everyone turned in their Salem Witch trials homework (the research done on the National Geographic website.) Then we watched the first few scenes of The Crucible.
Sorry again for the late posting!
