Yesterday the day was beyond hectic. I unfortunately didn't have time to blog, but I know some of you return to the blog to get work, so I thought I would update anyway.
In Literature 9 we took our unit test over the short story unit "Rewards and Sacrifices". Everyone seemed to have time to complete the test; we will finish the skills portion tomorrow. For homework, please complete the vocabulary lesson over "The Necklace" and "The Son from America".
In English 10 we're still trying to get everyone caught up. Since 8th hour was finished with their speeches, they were able to start discussion of what is parliamentary procedure. First hour, however is still working on completing their motivational speeches. We did have time in both classes to review direct and indirect objects. We will be having a quiz over these concepts on Friday.
In American Government we had our own little version of a scavenger hunt. Using the Google Presentation on Standing Committees, we tried to assign particular bills to committee. Then we reviewed the key committees - appropriations, ways and means, and rules committee. We're going to be very close to finishing the chapter, but with such an irregular class schedule next week, I'm not sure what all we're going to get done.
In Law we finished our discussion of case law. We discussed the difference between procedural law (what happens when you're arrested, held on bond, etc.) and substantive law (which is like a dictionary of what murder, burglary, or rape specifically is). Substantive law is really statute law. We will finish up the chapter tomorrow. Again such a sporadic schedule next week makes assessments difficult to determine. I think our chapter test will be Tuesday.
Hope everyone had a good Wednesday.
