This brutal cold weather can stop any time now. I've heard that tomorrow's temperatures are supposed to be nearly 40 degrees. That's almost a seventy degree pendulum swing. That's crazy!
The Literature 9 classes took their Short Story test. I didn't see too much smoke, and many of them finished early, so I think it went o.k. I was a little disappointed at the number of empty study guides that were turned in. If the study guides aren't completed, how are you preparing?
In English 10 we finally finished those persuasive speeches. On the one hand, I've seen such growth in the speech presentations, but then again I've actually seen some kids do worse in preparation and presenting. We will be working on direct and indirect objects, along with vocabulary for the rest of the week. Hopefully we'll be able to provide enough opportunities for those grades to recover.
In American Literature we continued to discuss the Scarlet Letter. It's such a powerful story of labels, accepting ourselves and others for the baggage we bring, and also the power of forgiveness. It is truly a wonderful tale. As you can tell I truly love teaching this novel.
In Law most of the classtime was given for research of Administrative Law. I look forward to the presentations tomorrow.
