I'm sorry I neglected to blog for today. I'm a little behind due to a few personal challenges.
In Literature 9 we worked on our "Gift of the Magi" story detective. We discussed allusions, especially during the bell ringer. During first hour, everyone reviewed Saki vs. O. Henry, then both classes took the reading check.
In English 10 we started with reviewing complements. On the reverse side of complements worksheet, there is a review (bold faced word is either a direct object, indirect object, predicate adjective or predicate nominative). Everyone worked together in their pods. Then a worksheet to be completed as homework was distributed. Finally notes were given on informative speaking. It will take us a couple of days to get through the notes, but then we'll focus on our Mayflower Project and a personal narrative speech.
American Literature. Before school several students made up watching The Crucible so they were prepared to take their quiz (Act I and Act II). Unfortunately several have not yet taken that quiz. We reviewed the information from Act I and II (viewing questions), then we took the quiz. During third hour we had a few minutes to review the vocabulary, but not in fourth hour.
So much success here at GLR - volleyball, football, All-State singers, and the drama department. Great job!
