Good Morning, and what a blustery morning it is. I hope everyone makes it home safely. Please drive carefully as you come to an intersection.

Literature 9 (1st hour) We worked on an onomatopoeia poem. I'm anxious to see the creativity flow from these wonderful minds. Then we reviewed the Elements of Fiction terms. We took a review on Moodle, and then began to take notes on how a story map should be completed. I know they will enjoy "The Lady or the Tiger" story.

In English 10 (2nd Hour) we got to four additional speeches. I lost my temper a bit with the class with the number of students passing. Every time a student passes his/her overall grade drops one letter grade. I understand the nervousness of giving a speech, I do not understand how a student is not prepared with they received two weeks in class to research and prepare. The pass option will not be allowed with the next speech.

In American Government we discussed delegated and implied powers. We reviewed those powers as it came to the legislative and executive branches. The class then had about 15 minutes to work on their media presentations related to the separation of powers.

Again, be careful! Gotta love Iowa winters!
