This week just seemed to fly by. If the entire year goes like this, it will be over before we know it.
In Literature 9 we watched this great rap (debate) about whether the Princess sent the young man to the lady or the tiger. The two rappers brought up some good points. Then we took our reading check over this story. The rap came in handy as one of the questions was about which door do you think she sent him to and what are the reasons. Then we reviewed the 10 vocabulary words and played a little of our own "lady or the tiger". Individuals drew cards, read aloud their crime, and then chose a door. We didn't have much time to get through the story map, but that's o.k. We'll finish up on Monday.
In English 10 we watched (or finished) the wonderful comedic routine "Who's on First". This is an amazing example of the message not being received by the listener and the feedback not impacting the speaker. We then took a check on Moodle over our communication notes. We got in a few vocabulary presentations before the end of the period.
In American Literature we started the class by talking about what would you take if you were going to colonize Mars. You could only fill one trunk for your family. Then we filled out the Google form outlining the group members, goals, and project. There are so many great projects out there. I'm excited to see how this will work. In fact I'm so excited I want to do a project.
Labor Day weekend is the last hoorah for summer. It's also an opportunity to celebrate the work ethic that built this country. Sometimes I think we need to be reminded the power or working hard. Enjoy the holiday break, and see you on Tuesday.
