We've had a lot of time to discuss the Super Bowl today. I just loved the way it was a class act all the way around - from having veterans flip the coin, a great half-time show, no controversial calls, and finally wonderful commercials.
In Literature 9 we reviewed the words related to Black Boy. Then we discussed the anecdotes that he used to show his first writing experience. For tomorrow everyone should be working on their blackout poetry project. There will be time in class to work on it. Don't forget to vote on which anecdote you're planning on using.
In English 10 we basically took notes all class period. I know it sounds boring, and maybe it was, but we're heading into the toughest part of speech communication - the ability to convince others to do something different, believe something different, or convince something different. For tomorrow, think about the product you'd like to endorse.
In American Government, we finished our discussion of the delegated and implied powers of Congress. There is so much information here as it basically is breaking down the responsibilities and duties of the Congress. We will be having a quiz on Wednesday over Article I. Also you have current events due on Wednesday.
In Law, we presented our USSC court cases. Everyone was supposed to research a current Supreme Court case and create a slid presentation. We discussed the cases, researched whether the courts have returned a verdict, and/or whether we agree with the issues of law. For tomorrow (as we didn't have enough time today), we will take our quiz over the federal court system. Please read the web pages that I sent to you via email. These pages are related to the Iowa court system - the district, appellate, Supreme Court as well as the justices.
Have a great Monday everyone!
