I'm sorry that I neglected posting on Friday, but we were trying to get out of town as we had a long drive to my daughter's this week. Driving 14 hours in a single weekend is not for the faint of heart! It was a good weekend though.
In Literature 9 we concluded our discussion of the prosecution. We discussed the body language of those that lie, and we all concluded that both Bob and Mayella were lying. I am always conflicted as I never know whether to feel sorry for her. We took our check over the story and also reviewed the vocabulary for that chapter.
In English 10 it was all about comparisons. We read Act III, Scene 1 and compared it to the previous fight scene in Act 1. That is the skill we're going to try and focus on. We didn't get to our misplaced and dangling phrases, but we'll finish that up next week.
In American Government we reviewed the information related to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and then took our quiz. We had a lot of people gone for a number of reasons, and some of them sound like they are unexcused. Any unexcused absence results in a zero for the assignment completed. I hope most of you can get those switched to excused so that your grades do not drop any further. We are going to start our Mock Congress, along with the study of the Presidential powers. Have an idea, something you want to change. We will be researching and working on original bills to debate and legislate in our Mock Congress.
In Law we watched the end of the movie, and discussed the implications.
I saw numerous pictures of prom and everyone looked amazing. I hope you made some wonderful memories. It is really a special night!
