I woke up this morning, and I swore it was Friday. Needless to say I was a little disappointed to find out it was only Tuesday. Then a student reminded me that it was "fall back" with the clocks on Sunday. I swear that is my favorite day of the year.
In Literature 9 we worked on the differences between tone and mood. I feel like we're beginning to understand this difficult concept. Then we conducted our museum walk of the 1920's. We learned a lot about the 1920's - Prohibition, the 19th Amendment, the invention of both bubble gum and the lie detector, and so much more. We then looked over the vocabulary related to the one-act "Red Carnations."
In English 10 we're working on reviewing parts of speech. For some it is old hat, while others are struggling a bit. Then we had five presentations on our vocabulary. We had just enough time to talk about the five elements of an introduction.
In American Literature, we demonstrated our knowledge of the Pledge of Allegiance - a lot. We heard it over and over again. Next - the Star Spangled Banner. Next we had time to learn about the life and times of both Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson. We reviewed their resume and power point. Students will have to create their own resume and power point, so we spent quite a bit of time reviewing the elements of this project.
Have a happy Tuesday! Good luck Lady Mustangs! I know you'll do your best.
