I was out of the district today, but my substitute Mr. Van Briesen did a wonderful job keeping us on track.
In Literature 9 we read for our tradition ten minutes. This is our first number of this week as we've missed class for the past two days. We then watched a slideshow of President Lincoln's inauguration. Speaking of his inauguration, we then read the graphic novel version found in your book. Everyone was partnered up and took turns reading either the boxes or the bubbles. When they finished reading, they picked up a worksheet they needed to complete. For homework, they should complete the vocabulary for "Of Dry Goods and Black Bow Ties" (on back of "A Brother's Crime".
In English 10 everyone had a few minutes to review the vocabulary words. Then they took the quiz. After the quiz, it was time to read for 10 minutes. I sent all of the English 10 students an email with the subject/verb link. Everyone should complete Exercises 2-3. We will be finishing up any discussion with speeches tomorrow. Speeches start on Monday.
In American Government, I sent an email link to a video I made concerning limited government. While watching the video, everyone had some things they needed to research - under what circumstances a warrant is legal, what is probable cause, etc. Basically, research the different ways government is limited. After watching the video and answering the questions, Mr. Van Briesen distributed a worksheet on Separation of Powers. On the worksheet are the instructions of what to color and label.
In Law, we also had a vocabulary test. This was over the legal vocabulary that we studied and created a Google slide presentation. After the quiz, everyone received a worksheet that they should complete using the handout I gave them yesterday.
