As most of you know, Craig and I received some good news yesterday on the health front. We're not out of the woods by any means, but the news was good, and we're going to take it. I hope you all enjoyed your suckers.
In Literature 9 we watched a short video on the Scottsboro Boys and the injustice they faced at the hands of the court. Then we took our quiz on Chapters 16-21. Everyone got their vocabulary for the rest of the book. Hopefully we can finish strong where the vocabulary is concerned.
In English 10 it was really about getting everyone on the same page when it comes to Act III. With me ducking out yesterday for Craig's appointment, seventh hour was a little behind. I think we succeeded - we at least got through scene 4. We'll finish up scene 5 tomorrow (both classes) and hopefully have our Act III quiz on Friday. Everyone is supposed to be working on their dangling and misplaced phrases worksheet.
In American Government we had a few gruesome conversations from current events. Man, we humans can find some pretty wicked things to do to each other. Then we reviewed the grading procedures for our Mock Congress. Everyone then received a card that they were to fill out with their idea for legislative changes. I also handed out a worksheet on how to write the bill/resolution. We read through the worksheet and filled out the appropriate exercises. All rough drafts are due by Friday, and by Monday all final drafts must be placed in the hopper of your appropriate folder. We will begin debating on Monday.
In Law we took our Criminal Unit Test. Everyone finished so quickly, and the general consensus is that it was pretty easy. I guess teachers like to hear that because it indicates they learned the material.
Have a great day everyone! Everyone is anxious about the superintendent interviews. I appreciate all the work some of you are doing for this!
