Today was my grandmother's birthday. She would have been 101 years old. She was truly an amazing lady. If you have someone in your life that influenced you, take a moment and send them a card or better yet, give them a call. You'll be glad you did.
In Literature 9 we continued to review for Thursday's test. We went over the qualities of "classic" literature - literally a good story, does it change us socially, and finally does it make us a better people individually (morally). I love these discussions knowing that we'll have them for several pieces of literature throughout their journey in my courses.
In English 10 we continued to watch Romeo and Juliet. I know that this version is quite the shock, but if they open themselves up to the interpretation, I think they'll agree - it's cool.
In American Literature we finished watching Huckleberry Finn. Everyone was then put into groups of four and given a handout on dialect. They are to practice saying those quotes in their best Missiourian accent, Then as a group they are to translate what the quotes actually mean. That's right translate English into English! As homework they are to fill out a worksheet on the "Celebrated Jumping Frog". There will be a check on Thursday over this story.
In Law we continued with our packet. We are going quite slowly because I was setting up the crime simulation. And then I had to set the perimeters for how the law investigators figure things out.
Have a great Tuesday. Pray for sunshine!
