One testing day down, and one to go. I'm really not ready for this year to end. I've enjoyed myself teaching more than I have in a very long time. I hope I can keep this "enjoyment" rolling right into next year.
In Literature 9 (1st Hour), we completed our novel evaluation. Then we took our To Kill a Mockingbird test. Books were turned in, and sheets were signed. Good-byes were given. Remember I have a reading list posted on my website for those that would like to keep the reading train going.
In English 10 we also finished our novel evaluation as well. There were some really outstanding numbers. We then watched the rest of the modern version of Romeo and Juliet, and then we compared it to Zeffirelli's version - starting at Juliet's 'poisoning'. Notebooks were turned in, and sheets were signed. Another good-bye. What great sophomores you are/were.
In American Literature, we again completed our novel project (see a pattern here). We then turned in our notebooks - we don't want you selling them to any underclassmen. We played a fun game of Kahoot that reviewed the entire year. It was a little disheartening how little people remembered - who wrote the national anthem for one, but without any time to study, what could I expect. We then reviewed some key pieces of literature (poetry) - "I am Nobody", "Road Not Taken", "I Hear America Singing," "I, Too," and finally "Invictus". Then we a good-bye we stood on a chair and recited "I am the master of my fate/I am the captain of my soul."
Good luck.
In Law, we played our legal board game, and man I was impressed. Each team earned at least five cards. Believe me that is impressive!
Tonight, a video showing, and tomorrow is the last day of 2017-2018 school year!
