After a day being gone, it kind of takes awhile to get back into the rhythm. It's great to be back though.
In English 10 we finished with our presentations on Appearances and Attitudes. This vocabulary quiz will be on Friday. It will have the same format as the previous one, so that should make it a little easier to know what to expect. We then discussed resonation and articulation. Everyone needs to choose two sentences to present using phonation, resonation, and articulation. They should then mark their scripts appropriately (single, double, or triple underline). Also listen to those around you and evaluate their voices. Use the chart that was distributed to help you analyze those voices.
In American Government class got quite lively. We played a game on how to make the most money. This simulation is an attempt to understand the mindset behind the Articles of Confederation. The citizens of 1776 thought of the State before they thought of the needs of the nation. Simply choosing "red" or "blue" really got the classroom hopping. It was really fun to watch their realization. We then discussed the features, weaknesses and achievements of the Articles of Confederation. Our amateur filmmakers will make a Photo Story reflecting what they've learned.
In Literature 9 we took about 15 minutes to study for our upcoming test. Then we reviewed the elements of persuasion and applied them to a short essay from John F. Kennedy. Hopefully we'll be able to finish things up and move on. I'm hoping we can finish this unit before the end of the quarter. Fingers crossed!
Happy Wednesday everyone!
