I think today is the first day in several weeks that I feel like I'm back to my old self. It's a good feeling.
In Literature 9 we reviewed some previous assignments (test, notebook), and then moved on to our novel. We reviewed the information about Harper Lee (Moodle videos) and also discussed how everyone 'writes what they know'. Then everyone was put into groups of four and asked to solve some basic problems. It's not that these problems appear in the book, but the idea is that one problem can have many different solutions. Everyone should read Chapter 1.
In English 10 we finally finished our first scene. We will need to pick up the pace if we hope to finish by the end of the year. We reviewed the three vocabulary words for Act 1 (we also added the word shrift). Then we finished reading the scene, worked on Act I literary terms and questions.
In American Government we discussed the volatile nature of the primary process. Then we finished discussing the differences between the EOP and the Cabinet. We took a few notes, went to the SMART board for a few activities, and hopefully cemented the differences between the two. Everyone has a budget simulator to finish for Monday as well as take notes over Chapter 9-1 (The Powers of the President).
In Law we finally took our Chapter 4 test. This class has been hit the hardest because of my surgery, the speech tournament, and other distractions. I really appreciate their patience. Hopefully from now on, we can focus on our units of criminal law and torts.
Have a great Wednesday everyone!
