Things are looking up - my van started and my computers started to sync. Now if my washer and dryer would miraculously start working, life would be grand.
In Literature 9 we started by discussing how it would feel to have a sibling commit such a horrible crime. Then we reviewed the vocabulary related to the story. Finally, we created a timeline of events for "A Brother's Crime." For homework, everyone should read the handout of Abraham Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address.
For English 10 we read for our ten minutes, but the rest of the class period was set aside to research your chosen occupation. Tomorrow you will be sharing your thesis for a grade. Tomorrow we will also be going over your notecard requirements and what should/should not be on your visual aids.
In American Government, we discussed who "the people" really were. We decided that the people included American citizens, women, people of color, and those over 18. We also included businesses, children, and immigrants, but with a "but". There seemed to be conditions to their inclusion. Animals are still out. We then took our Preamble quiz. We moved on to a few notes about federalism and then classified various governmental duties into federal, state/local or concurrent powers. For Friday, complete your current events and read the handout I distributed. (You can skip the first page.)
Tomorrow it's supposed to be almost 40 degrees. Winner winner! Have a great Wednesday everyone.
