As I listen to the songs of the birds outside my classroom window, it makes me long for summer. Yet, I really would love a week or two more of school. There is so much I would like to have shared with you. I guess there's always next year.
In Literature 9 we discussed first whether Atticus was right in covering up the crime. After all, they could now be arrested for obstruction of justice and being an accessory. We then read the final chapter and noticed the ways that the book comes full circle. We discussed whether the book was a classic - literally, socially, or morally. We then returned to the first chapter and discussed what "it" was...the Ewells are accused of starting "it" or maybe Boo started "it". What is "it"? Maybe the idea is that "it" is the step into adulthood, that time when we know life is not always so far. We then worked on Moral Development, which is due tomorrow.
In English 10 it was Act II of the movie (with scene 1 from Act III). I really do enjoy this version and the way the director looked at the timing and lines in a different way. I also collected notebooks, and every one did so well.
In American Literature we watched the final act of Our Town. I sat in the back of the room and just cried. Geez, I need to get a grip, but I love the message of this show. Enjoy every day - the little things, the frustrating things. Time goes so fast, and before we know it our time has run out. We will take our quiz tomorrow and then work on a classic novel one pager.
In Law, we got through a good portion of Runaway Jury. We will finish it up on Wednesday. What we're going to do on Thursday, I'm not sure.
Have a great Tuesday, and good luck to the baseball team and their first game!
