Last week Friday was a crazy day with Senior skip day and Juniors decorating for Prom. I decided to combine the Sophomores and Freshmen lesson plans together here.
In Literature 9 we are watching To Kill a Mockingbird. This classic movie was approved of by Harper Lee. We've discussed the similarities and differences between the book and the movie. Also everyone should have turned in their notebooks.
In English 10 we're finishing up our study of phrases (prep., appositive, and verbals). Our test will be on Wednesday. On Friday and today we completed the last of our dangling and misplaced exercises. We then read Act III: Scenes 2-4 of Romeo and Juliet. All summaries and questions should be complete by now.
In American Government we discussed the Cabinet and the EOP. We took some times (7 minutes) to conduct personal research over any Cabinet position that might be used in our/their lifetimes. For example, if a student thought they would be working in the agricultural industry in the future, they looked at the Department of Ag's website, same with a teacher and the Department of Education website. We then discussed the differences between the EOP and the Cabinet.
In Law we're on our second day of 12 Angry Men. This is such a classic movie about evidence collection, cross-examination, and jury deliberation. We're getting ready to conduct our joint simulation with the forensics class. Hopefully we'll still have time to discuss torts.
Have a great Monday. It's supposed to be very nice weather!
