I don't know if anyone noticed, but 1/3 of the school year has already passed! That is absolutely mind boggling to me.
In Literature 9 we shared our reality vs. daydreams illustrations. The captions are so key to this activity because I'm looking for to see if you made the connection between the two. Did you notice the "trigger"? I know that you must get sick of me asking - do you know why I assigned this? But I want you to know that I don't assign busy work, but because so many of you are visual learners it helps us process what the story is about. Then we discussed the theme of the story. I wonder what Doodle would have said to Walter Mitty. Despite Doodle's short life, it seems to me he "lived" more than Walter did. We finished up with some fun charades. I think we will need to play that again. It took awhile for us to warm up to the game, but once we did it was so fun!
In English 10 we finished our personal experiences speeches. AND THEN we ... We discussed our perceptions of how the speeches went. AND THEN (as you can see I'm trying to include sarcasm in a blog. We need to focus on our grammar and phraseology. Because it appears that many people did not practice out loud, but rather in their head, it was clear that as they searched for words - grammar suffered. AND THEN we discussed the Museum Box. Tomorrow we will spend class time recording and preparing our boxes.
In American Government we basically compared the three economic systems. We did quite a few activities - SMART board matching, an infographic with questions, and then a classifying assignment. I'm encouraged by how well we're differentiating between the three economic systems. Our unit test is on Friday.
Have a great Wednesday. I looks like it is the end of nice weather for us. Sad day!
