Wow! Talk about a change in the temperature. I hate Iowa winters...well, I love cold days where I can read a book, enjoy some hot chocolate, and vegetate, but let's be honest that doesn't happen very often.
In Literature 9 we almost finished the play "Trifles". We're close. We looked at the clues the ladies were discovering as they waited for the men to gather their own evidence.
In English 10 we discussed topical organization. We also review the 6 C's. Next week will be the big test over Parts of Speech.
In American Literature we were very philosophical. We discussed transcendentalism and it's affect on literature and culture. It seems a fairly passive (and even accepted) philosophy, but appearances can be deceiving. We joked about our own "kernel" and land we're to till. Being our own person - an individual - is a valuable concept, but when it goes to the point that society suffers, what then becomes more important - the society or the individual? Deep - I know!
Happy Thursday!
