After a long night last night, you would think it would be hard to get up and go to school, but the opposite was true. I was raring to face the day! (However now at the end of the day, I'm bushed!)
In Literature 9 we discussed imagery. We started by looking at and describing imagery in a power point, then we went to the story and divided the passages and looked for imagery. We took a reading check over the story, and then reviewed the problem/solution structure of the story. For Monday get the vocabulary done, and prepare for a mid-unit quiz.
In English 10 we presented seven vocabulary words related to mythology. We'll finish them up on Monday. Then we started to review the outline that was saved to Moodle. I provided a sample outline as well as a blank outline. If you use the blank outline, remember you will need to print it off and hand it to Mrs. Sandbulte the day of the quiz.
In American Literature we took a check over Narrative of a Slave (true/false). Then most of the class period was set aside for people to work on their vocabulary lesson. With just minutes left, I "somewhat" introduced transcendentalism. Everyone is supposed to read "Self-Reliance" for class on Tuesday. It's tough so use the skills and steps we've introduced when reading difficult materials (circle unfamiliar vocabulary, read it all the way through, then re-read those sections that are difficult, create "headings" for each paragraph - it helps with summarizing).
I hope everyone has a great week. Good luck to all the athletes as well as the speech kids.
