I'm posting for Friday on Sunday, so that might give you some idea of how hectic and overwhelming my weekend has been. I might need Monday to recover.
In Literature 9 we reviewed similes, metaphors, and personification. Then we took a check (just a casual assessment) to see how everyone was doing. I had hoped to get a bit of the Irony Workshop completed, but that wasn't in the cards. We will try to get back on track next week.
In English 10 only one class was able to meet. We reviewed subjects and predicates. Then we completed another real world communication activity. One person was given a crime scene picture while the other individual acted as a police officer trying to get the information out of a rattled witness. It doesn't quite give students the idea because if you had witnessed a crime, your adrenaline would be surging, but it was at least a practice.
In American Literature we discussed the legacy of the Puritans. To think these adventurers came to this country in 1620 and they had such a long-lasting effect. We then quickly reviewed the principles of Puritan literature, Anne Bradstreet, and Jonathon Edwards. Then we took an on-line quiz. Everyone was then supposed to work on an activity related to the Salem Witch Trials.
I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. Hug your family members just a little tighter, call those you don't see very often, and enjoy those you love.
