We started motivational speeches in Sophomore English, and man, they did an awesome job. I'm so proud of their growth and ability! Great job!
In Literature 9 we finished up the vocabulary and worksheets. Then we watched a video clip of Ken Kamlar on his experiences in 1996. He basically picks up where John left off in the story. It's really powerful as he tells us about Rob Hall, Beck Weathers, and 12 of the other climbers. It's 19 total because John K. includes the sherpas in his final total.
In American Government we reviewed for our test, and then we took it. Most were done in 15-20 minutes. I don't know if that's a good sign or not. Either way, we're going to start discussing the amendment process - both formally and informally.
In English 10 as I said we started motivational speeches. Each speech needs to be recorded and saved to their G-Drive. If you presented today, remember you must complete your self-evaluation. I was so impressed. You make me want to run in the morning, after getting a good nights sleep, have a positive attitude, take a college course, and plan a meaningful summer! Great presentations. The bar has been set high for the rest of you!
In Law we discussed procedural and substantive law. Remember procedural deals with our due process - attorneys, reading us our rights, etc. Substantive is really all about definitions - what is burglary? What is rape? The rest of the class period was completing the section review. On Monday we'll review the crossword puzzle, then take our quiz over Chapter 1-2.
Have a great weekend everyone!
