A lot of empty desks today - Swing Choir and Jazz Band are at USD for their yearly competition. However, all classes still moved on.
In Literature 9 we started by creating a web of the 1930's. We used our computers to do a quick search of the decade looking for information on headlines, fashion, music, sports, prices of items (land, houses, and daily essentials), and entertainment. We shared this information in a web. Then we cleaned out our third quarter notebook and started a new one. It's hard to believe it's fourth quarter all ready. Then we tried to get to information about Harper Lee, but unfortunately time got the better of us. Tomorrow we will distribute books and get started on reading this amazing book.
In English 10 we made a fourth quarter notebook. We saved several pages from the third quarter, so those of you absent might need to borrow a classmate's to get it all straight. We then continued to read Act 1, Scene 1. For tomorrow everyone is to answer the questions pertaining to the prologue and Act 1, Scene 1. Don't forget to do your annotating.
In American Literature we spent most of the class period discussing chapter 1 from Of Mice and Men. We annotated a portion of the reading (comparing the characterization of Lennie and George). Then we took our Chapter 2 reading check. As homework another annotating assignment. Read Chapter 3 for Friday.
In Law everyone was at the USD Festival, so our test is tomorrow.
Have a great Tuesday everyone! Give those you love a little stronger hug. This week's events remind us it's important to tell those that we love how important they are.
