I'm not too proud to admit it - I'm glad it's Friday. I haven't been getting much sleep, and I'm looking forward to sitting in the corner of my couch tonight watching Netflix! A full day of speech tomorrow.
In Literature 9 we finished up "A Brother's Crime". We shared our chronological order, discussed the importance of accessing prior knowledge, and then took a quiz on Moodle. Then we tried to access that same prior knowledge with "Of Dry Goods and Black Bow Ties." Most students didn't know what a dry goods store was, so there wasn't that much prior knowledge.
In English 10 we continued with our vocabulary related to Jobs and Professions. We focused on "ethos" and persuasive speaking. Everyone is supposed to research and begin preparing for our Produce Endorsement Speeches.
In American Government we started class with 20 minutes devoted to current events. I really enjoy these conversations. Then we described the powers found in the Constitution related to the Executive Branch. We didn't quite get done with the Judicial Branch but we'll finish that up on Monday. We will have a quiz on Monday with current events being on Wednesday.
I hope everyone has a good and relaxing weekend.
