Saturday is here, and I'm hacking up a lung. I hate fall colds, and this one is a doozy. I hate the fact that I had to postpone set construction. I was really hoping that I could get most of it done. Oh well, delays only make things interesting.
In Literature 9 we began our discussion of persuasion. We began to itemize the various rhetorical devices - repetition (anaaphora and parallel structure), analogy (simile, metaphor), and juxtaposition. On Monday we will review the 30 vocabulary words, and then on Tuesday we'll strut our stuff! I hope you have a great weekend!
In English 10 we were working on vocabulary as well. We took our quiz on Appearances and Attitudes. We got the necessary copies of our script, and reviewed the voice personality marks (pause, speed, emphasis, pitch).
In American Literature we finished the unit on Colonization. The Crucible was a popular activity, and I know that it was hard to wrap our minds around the fact that the events were true. We took our assessment over the movie. We'll begin our discussion of nonfiction and the start of our country.
See you all Monday! Can you believe that October is right around the corner?
