Whew, I am tired today. I was jumping from one thing to another with the agility of a trapeze artist. (Probably not with much grace, but man I was quick!)
In Literature 9 we worked on our characterization worksheet #1-2. We looked at whether the author was using positive or negative words to characterize the person. We discussed how an author doesn't try to confuse the reader. Find the pattern, and that's probably the trait for all the character (positive or negative). We then took our reading check over the story. I heard a couple people say that they thought it was easy. While everyone was finishing up, people took notes on Expand Your Vocabulary words. We didn't get to watch the video as planned, but hopefully, we can finish up tomorrow. For homework, read for the ten minutes we didn't get to in class.
In English 10, we had a few book talks. We spent most of the class period reviewing our vocabulary words by playing charades. It was fun to watch people try and decide how to act out "bilious" or "captious". Tomorrow is our test.
In American Government, we finished up our democracy conversation. I shared with the class the essay questions - "How democratic are we?" I provided some background, but remember that regurgitating what I already said will only award you half of the 15 points. The essay question is up until noon on Friday.
Have a great Wednesday. It looks amazing outside - the sun is shining, the wind seems calm, and the temperature (according to my phone) seems comfortable. We won't have too many more days like this.
