Time definitely got away from me the last two days. I'm going to try and summarize what we've been doing in our classes from Monday until today. Sorry for the lapses.
In Literature 9 on Monday we started creating games over the story "The Leap". The class was placed in groups of four, and they decided what type of game to create. We had several "Kahoot's" (an on-line competitive game), Old Maid, Liar - Liar, A version of Uno (called Leap), Checkers, etc. Everyone was so creative; it was really inspiring. On Tuesday we played each others games and also went through the vocabulary related to "The Leap". Today we played a game of Kahoot, and then took our Moodle check over the story. We also went over the section of Expand Your Vocabulary.
In English 10 Monday we took a check over subjects and predicates. We then finished our listening notes (Active Listening Notes, Seven Levels of Listening, Four Purposes of Listening). On both Monday and Tuesday we conducted a few listening exercises using the active listening techniques (paraphrased and repeated their message, probe and clarified for additional information, and finally tried to remember the key points). Today we reviewed vocabulary from our lesson on Appearances and Attitudes. We then started to review the various types of Propaganda Techniques.
In American Literature (Tuesday and Wednesday) we worked on our study of The Crucible. We got everyone on the same page and completed Acts I and II. Today (Wednesday) we took a quiz over Act I and II. On Friday we will continue our viewing of the play. Everyone was encouraged to review the vocabulary related to this unit as it's been awhile since we've reviewed it.
In American Government (Monday) we had some wonderful discussions revolving around our activity with the UN Directive. Each group (Developed, Developing, and Underdeveloped) did a great job analyzing the information surrounding their particular group of countries. We had some amazing discussions about what we can do, what seems impossible to do, and is it possible just to hit 'reset'? I really enjoyed today's class period.
The end of September? Is that even possible? So much has happened in the last 25 days, and if the rest of the year goes this quickly, it will be over before we even have time to think.
