What a weekend! I think I'm actually glad to be back in school.
In Literature 9 we started with a Padlet asking what you think the world will be like when you are 40. We discussed transportation, schools, medicine of the future. It's hard to think futuristically, but that's what science fiction writers do. We then read about the genre on page 934. We also read Ray Bradbury's biography on page 1034. We filled in our story detective. Finally everyone was assigned the story "The Pedestrian". This short SHORT story is a true allegory for our future.
In English 10 we review four of the vocabulary words related to Jobs and Occupations. This set of words is much easier because they are what they are and there is little cross over, unlike the last set of words. Each class then had four tours presented, and they were, for the most part, great! For homework, everyone is supposed to watch two YouTube demonstration speeches (of their choosing) and evaluate them according to a rubric provided.
In American Government I presented information regarding the various plans presented during the Constitutional Convention (Virginia, New Jersey) and also the compromises (The Great Compromise, the 3/5ths, the commerce compromise, and those compromises dealing with the executive branch). The assignment is to watch a video answering the question as to why the Bill of Rights weren't included in the original Constitution. There is a worksheet to fill out as you view.
Monday is tough, especially when it's cold. I guess that's what you get for living in Iowa!
