For only being in school two days (I missed Monday), I'm ready for the weekend. That's a pretty sad state of affairs.
Literature 9 was all about the final test. From what I overheard in the hallway, I guess it was hard. I'm sure you all did better than you think! Watch the short videos on Harper Lee and fill in the biography information that was on the reverse side of your Unit Plan.
English 10 was the second of our two-panel discussions. During sixth hour they discussed the importance of modernizing education - the buildings, the schedules, the curriculum, and finally gave us a vision of what that would look like. I struggled with proof. There were a lot of statements made, but very little proof. During seventh hour, we heard a panel on the grading system - does it reflect the learning a student does? They compared the various systems around the world, weighted classes, portfolio assessments and standard based grading. We had some interesting conversations. Tomorrow will be the last of our panel discussions. Don't forget to work on your Shakespearean Scavenger Hunt.
In American Government, they took their test on the Bill of Rights. For homework next Wednesday, please watch the video related to Congressional membership and fill in the notes. No current events these next two weeks.
In Law, we discussed the success of our eyewitness testimony. We read a few of the reports and discussed maybe what we could do better next year. Maybe give everyone a heads up, telling them that there will be an experiment in the next two weeks. That might prevent the frantic phone calls going home. We then started our discussion of the death penalty in the United States. I was hoping we could finish, but that wasn't the case.
Have a great Wednesday everyone! See you tomorrow.
