Again, I love my job. Where else does someone get to experience the energy of young people? (Even if it seems like some of them are struggling to stay awake!)
In English II we started giving our quotation speeches. There were some stellar ones and some that were obviously not ready to go today. I'm sure with the weekend, the quality will improve.
In American Literature we're winding up The Crucible. We discussed the importance of reputation - it's the only thing we're left with when we die. The entire movie is a comparison to the Red Scare and the reputations lost due to the call of "communist". I hope the kids are enjoying the movie - and it's an uncomfortable movie to enjoy.
In Literature 9 we read and discussed the essay "Sayonara". On the back side of a worksheet (Thesis) we wrote down 10 details and also indicated imagery. After that we completed an image search that could accompany this essay. This was a great way to combine what we're reading with what we should be imagining.
All in all, a great day! Have a wonderful weekend!
