The day started out early with a wonderful speech breakfast catered by Shari's Kitchen. They are so awesome to work with, and I returned to the commons and everything was cleaned up. I can't say how much I appreciate working with them.
In Literature 9 we reviewed the vocabulary for Chapter 15, then we read Chapter 15 together. As we were reading we were trying to make the correct inferences to what is happening and what is being said. Sometimes because things are really clear, we can get a little lost. On Monday, we will take the Chapter 11-15 Quiz.
In English 10 all of the class period was taken showing our abundant knowledge of Act II. I'm sure the scores are great. (And there is no sarcasm in those words - really!)
In American Government we started by identifying the leaders in Congress. Then we watched a series of short C-SPAN videos explaining how the leadership, especially the Speaker of the House works. We will be doing a simulation next week with the Congressional leadership.
In Law we did one of my favorite lessons. We watched the second half of the 60 Minutes story on Ronald Cotton. Then we did our own experiment with eye-witness testimony. It's always fun to watch them "witness" a crime and the care they take in reporting back to the investigators.
Tomorrow is the music contest, so tonight could be a little long setting up the school. Hopefully there will be many hands helping to get those things done. Have a great weekend everyone!
