O.K. - is anyone as annoyed as I am with the flies? I swear they have been distracting all day - and growing in numbers! I'm not sure but I think it's a plague!
In Literature 9 we took our check over Chapter 3. We then reviewed the vocabulary which mostly relates to the horrible behavior of Burris Ewell. We took a few minutes to compare and contrast the two families (Ewell's and Cunningham's). For tomorrow everyone is supposed to look what it's like to walk around in other people's skin - from the perspective of Scout.
In English 10 we started with reviewing the answers to Exercise B on page 55. Then we acted out as much as we could of Act 1, Scene 5. I had hoped we would finish but that didn't happen, so we'll have to move back the quiz until Monday. I guess that's o.k. as we can talk about some of the literary devices as well as review some key events.
In American Literature we focused on Poe today. We reviewed what gothic literature was, then we tried to apply it to Poe's poem "Annabel Lee". We'll finish with Poe and the study of "The Raven." For Tuesday of next week, everyone should be caught up with the book and have Chapter 4 read as well.
In Law we reviewed our crime articles (there are some sick people out there - just saying!). Then we started our discussion of the Criminal Packet. We reviewed assault, battery, criminal homicide, first degree murder, and voluntary manslaughter. We will continue with the packet tomorrow, but everyone needs to remember to do the Section Review on page 70.
All in all a good day. Let the conferences begin!
