Snow! Really!? I'm definitely not ready for the white stuff to be on the ground in the morning, and I HATE scraping my windshields. Oh, to have the weather of August and September year around. However, there is so much I do love about Iowa that I can put up with the weather for awhile. But don't think I won't complain about it periodically! :-)
In Literature 9 we had fun practicing our articulation. An OLD technique is to put a pencil in your mouth and then try to recite something. It was fun to watch. Some didn't want to play, but after a little coercing (threat), they got on board. Then we reviewed the parts of a stage. Students catch on quite quickly to how a theater is organized. We then reviewed our notes on the characteristics of drama. We read the biography of Anton Chekov and shared our three questions. A lot of things were done in class today, and it was quite productive.
In English 10 we're finishing up with adverbs (hopefully). Then the rest of the class period was set aside to work on our promotions. There were some really creative things being thrown around. Students are learning about Soundzabound, and I'm really excited to see what comes about.
In American Literature we registered our nonfiction book. No one is reading the same book, and that will add some fun to our final project of a book trailer. We then matched rhetorical devices to examples, and then applied them to Leonard Pitts essay. All in all we got a lot done in just 42 minutes.
See you tomorrow!! Good luck to the Volleyball girls. May you be victorious.
