Today I woke up with the worst sore throat. We had several students walking around with fevers as they didn't want to miss school or the game. I was going to chew them out, but I realized I was guilty of the same thing.
In Literature 9 we took a check over the story "The Scarlet Ibis". They then sent me the URL of the Infographic they created using the ABC's of the story. Several of them discussed how it was hard to use a new program, and I guess my response was a little blunt, but "tough". Not everything we do is easy. We're so used to presenting our information using Power Point, that when there's something different in front of us, we don't want to use it. I'm glad several of them stuck to it and finished their project. All assignments are due by noon tomorrow.
In English 10 we finished our speeches in eighth hour. In first hour we took notes related audience analysis. We discussed the four types of audiences - positive, neutral, disinterested, and opposed. We have to tailor our message to the type of audience we're facing - evidence, organization, and our ethos. The first hour class has to prepare a survey to find out the background of the audience they're presenting to.
In American Literature we continued discussing the novel The Scarlet Letter. We took a check over the parts of the book we've discussed so far. On Thursday we'll continue with our study.
In Law we shared the last of our presentations on the history of law. Everyone did a great job with the Google presentation, and I feel we learned a lot. Tomorrow we're going to have a quiz (or check) over the information on the history of law.
Good luck to the athletes and their games tonight. See you tomorrow!
