I'm ready for spring. This cold and rainy weather makes me tired!
In Literature 9 we started out with a quiz over Chapters 1-5. I'm so proud of all the students that are diligently reading the book, keeping up with their summaries, and looking up the vocabulary words. Great job everyone! We also played a little Kahoot to review the vocabulary from Chapters 1-5. It was a little ugly in that people didn't seem to remember the words, so I might need to do a better job reviewing and studying the words on a daily basis.
In English 10 we reviewed the purpose of the Chorus. We talked about casting the Chorus - could it be Lord/Lady Capulet and Montague. How would the delivery of the Prologue? Would they work with the second prologue at the beginning of Act II. Then we read Act II Prologue and Scene 1. We discussed whether this scene was necessary with all its bawdy humor. I shared with them that the scene was probably inserted so that the audience could return to their places after an intermission without missing anything too important. We had time to discuss the problems (Problems! Problems! Problems! worksheet), but will need to get to the minor characters on the reverse side.
In American Government we spent a good 15-20 minutes reviewing for the test. It still seemed to give most ample time to take their test. By just glancing at the front page, I think most did a pretty good job. For Friday, everyone should start reading Chapter 5 and prepare for our discussion about Congress.
In Law we discussed the social issue of gay marriage and the recent developments in Georgia and North Carolina. Where will the law intervene and where will religious liberties be protected? It's a very sensitive issue. We then played Kahoot twice in preparation for our Legal Vocabulary quiz. Because of Swing Show rehearsal and set-up, I'm not sure who will have in class either tomorrow or Friday. We'll just play everything by ear.
I hope everyone has a great night!
