I'm not sure where the other postings have gone, but let's catch up.
In Literature 9 we cleaned out our binders. I just realized that doing it again in January would cause a huge hassle. We had a wonderful discussion about jealousy and love. We have some very thoughtful and philosophical students. We then reviewed the Elements of Fiction terms.
In English 10 we heard three informative speeches in each section. In one, I learned about volleyball, Easter Island, and Google. In the other section I learned about bullying, the Sandy Hook shooting, and the Haiti earthquake. I feel smarter.
In American Literature we finished up our discussion of "Civil Disobedience" and Nonviolent Resistance. We then moved on to Fredrick Douglass and his impact on the Abolitionist movement.
Looking back on the day, we had a very deep, intellectual classes. I feel smarter - I hope the kids do too.
