I've been running constantly today. It's not that I wasn't prepared, but I just seem to be moving on fast all day.
In Literature 9 we worked with our Expand Your Vocabulary words, played a little "match," and then began to review the information from the questions. We discussed the foreshadowing that was in the beginning of the story, moved onto personification with the word "blood-warm," and then discussed the term foil. Tomorrow everyone will be working on a vocabulary lesson, then move onto a map of Ship-Trap Island.
In English 10 we had a philippic conversation when we showed up at home two hours late. Those conversations are hard to have. Then we reviewed our vocabulary words in preparation for tomorrow's test. We didn't have a lot of time to discuss the effectiveness of a speaker, but hopefully, we can get that done tomorrow. For homework, please study for your test.
In American Government we reviewed for our quiz. We discussed the four features of a state, the four purposes of a government, and the four theories of how a state is born. We then reviewed Aristotle, Hobbes and Locke. After this intensive review, we took our quiz. I distributed new description cards of the island states they are creating. They worked on their concept of immigration and providing goods and services. For homework, everyone is supposed to have their current events ready for Friday. With Mass Band on Friday, I will be adjusting my lesson plans, so stop in tomorrow to get your make-up work.
It's Wednesday and I'm looking forward to Garth Brooks on Friday. I guess I'm just like a kid looking forward to something and thinking time is moving really slowly. Have a great Wednesday!
