Despite the fact that we only had four classes today, it seemed like the day went on forever. It's hard without a break (except for lunch). Once test/class after another makes for a longer day. I can't believe that tomorrow is the last day of school. What a wonderful year it was. I have never enjoyed a year of teaching as I did this one. Even though outside of school sucked, inside these walls, all was well.
In Literature 9 we finished our discussion of poetry - "The Road Not Take," "Sympathy," "Birches," and "Mending Wall." Hopefully through the study of these poems we realize we need to have fun ("Birches"), try new things ("Mending Wall") and take the path that is best for each of us ("Road Not Taken") Have a great summer!
In English 10 (7th Hour) we reviewed our rules for capitalization, commas, and end punctuation. Then it was time for that dreaded assessment.
In American Literature (3rd Hour) we very briefly reviewed our study guide. Then it was time for our Of Mice and Men test as well as our American Literature final. While everyone was taking their tests, I was grading their notebooks. I could really see the commitment to the class based on the notebooks. Hopefully for some juniors, this commitment changes before they return in the fall.
Have a great Wednesday!
