Is it spring yet? This weather is killing me! I hope we can get all the practicing done that we can yet this week. Losing practice time tonight really (REALLY) hurt. It's not time to panic...yet. (There is a tremor in my voice thought).
In Literature 9 we got both classes caught up. We finished "Cask of the Amontillado" in both 5th and 8th hour. Now we're going to read the last story in our "Life and Death" unit. "The Interlopers" is one of my favorite stories - I love a good surprise ending.
In English 10 the persuasive speeches are under way. I still haven't received surveys or seen uploaded outlines yet. I was persuaded about later school starts, smoking and the harms of it, whether or not to allow teenagers to buy video games, the importance of exercising, the importance of college, and is it better today or in the olden days?
In American Literature it was game day. The students played "Represent Me!" found in icivics.org. They were then directed to write a journal based on their experiences playing the game. With whatever time was remaining, they were to take notes over 5-2 Congressional leadership.
Law was also something of a game day. They were playing (on icivics.org as well) the game Do I have a Right? I was getting better at playing my avatar, but I still really stink at the game.
