Oh my goodness! Where did the weekend go? I had such lofty ambitions to get caught up, and I'm still way behind.
In Literature 9 we started out with our Drill the Skill. We've moved on from Author's Purpose to finding the Main Idea. Both of these skills are extremely important to reading comprehension. We then reviewed a few commonly confused words: all right and alright/all together and altogether. We discussed our personal experiences and tying it to Black Boy. We then discussed what an anecdote was and how Richard Wright used anecdotes to write his story.
In English 10 we began by reviewing object pronouns. We then quickly reviewed the vocabulary words from Proper Names. We will be having a test tomorrow. We then got through seven of the eight most common forms of propaganda.
In American Government we discussed the various types of governments: autocracy, confederacy, federal, oligarchy, and democracy. We then looked at the characteristics of a democracy and the soil that is necessary for democracy to grow. We compared it to Egypt as Egypt is presently trying to develop a democracy.
All in all a productive day!
