I truly enjoyed talking to your parents last night. I saw about 20 students' parents (1/7 of the school). I hope I get the chance to visit with several more tomorrow night.
In Literature 9 we're just plugging along in the book To Kill a Mockingbird. We finished up the vocabulary related to chapters 1-5; we also classified some of the words as descriptors to our characters. As long as we don't have to do quizzes and lessons, we'll do activities related to the words rather than graded assignments. We then took a reading check over Chapter 5. We discussed the characterization of Miss Maudie (on the worksheet). Tomorrow we will be taking a quiz over the reading. Have your summaries completed as you will use them on the quiz.
In English 10 we acted out Act I: Scenes 2-3. Seventh hour struggled with finishing scene 3, but we'll be able to complete that easily tomorrow. We will also have a gerunds assignment tomorrow to let me know how we're doing.
In American Government we had an abbreviated Dinner Party of Congressional Leaders. I think we understand how Congressional Leadership works. We started to discuss a day in the House, but we have a bit left to cover there. For Monday everyone should have the notes watched/taken for Chapter 5-3 The Senate. It's on Moodle and very short (4 minutes).
In Law we took our quiz over Chapter 5-1 and the rest of the class period was supposed to be used to read and take notes over chapter 5-2.
A fun day. There are few days that I don't enjoy what I'm doing, but especially when I can teach To Kill a Mockingbird and Romeo and Juliet, it's a good good day!
