It's been running from one thing to another today. Not only teaching a complete schedule, but taking tickets for the play, trying to get downtown to vote, and oh yeah, say hi to a husband I haven't seen in several days. Gotta love play season.
In English 10 we reviewed the various introduction strategies. We discussed how for every speech a speaker will often use two or more strategies per introduction. We then reviewed the three components of a conclusion. Tomorrow the outline for the demonstration is due. No outline, then it will be quality time with Mrs. Sandbulte. No longer will people be allowed to not prepared for their speeches.
In American Literature we reviewed the various rhetorical devices. We talked about how they were used both in the essay by Leonard Pitts and the speech by Patrick Henry. Then we took our rhetorical devices quiz. We may or may not be meeting again this week, so the assignment of working on their resume was given. The rough draft for this will be next week. The rough draft is an opportunity for me to look at it before the big presentation.
In Literature 9 we reviewed the elements of fiction. Yesterday we completed a wonderful google presentation and today we added information. Tomorrow we're going to take a quiz over the elements of fiction. Everyone should have received the vocabulary related to our first short story "The Lady or the Tiger?" I know everyone is really going to enjoy that story.
Have a great Tuesday. It sure seems like it's nice out there.
